Corrupt JPEG, stripes ...., how to repair them ?
Hallo,
I have thousands of JPeg's on my HD. Last, I opened a Joeg, and in
the view, I saw sone wrong-coloured stripe. On some other JPeg's,
there was a miscoloured band. Can some-one tells me if this can be
solved ? If yes, how. There must at least be a kind of a tool
permitting repairing this error. Somewhere there is a missing or
wrong-readed byte and hups, there we go.
Any help would be very appreceated !!!
Thanks,
Wim Vanmaele

Re: Corrupt JPEG, stripes ...., how to repair them ?
I had a very similar problem, although it was with Tiff files viewed in
Photoshop. It was on a brand new computer. Turned out to be a faulty
motherboard, something I would not have thought of. Everything else about
the performance of the computer was excellent. If I hadn't had this problem
with some images I probably would not have known the motherboard was dodgy.
If this isn't your problem you could possibly try the program available
here - http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/ - You can download the
program, try it to see if it works and then purchase it if necessary. I am
not sure if it will work on a hard drive as it is designed to work on
compact flash cards.
You cannot save the rescued images in the free download version but the
bought version obviously allows you to do this.
Good Luck
