I have a web server (Netserver lh6000r) that encounters registry corruption
every few months.

In NTBackup of system state, there are these warnings:
Error: You do not have permission to access portions of System
State\Registry\software.
Please see the owner or administrator to get permission.
Warning: Unable to open the file \Registry\software - skipped.

In BackupExec, system state backup of this server reported this:
Backup- \\servername.domain.com\System?State Unable to open the item
\\servername.domain.com\System?State\Registry\soft ware - skipped.

Every time I have to restore the %systemroot%\system32\config\Software file to
a good copy but that don't last long, roughly after 3 months, the problem comes
back.

The web server is running Coldfusion 4.5, there are no other servers using
Coldfusion. I suspect the corruption has something to do with Coldfusion. This
link talks something about Coldfusion and corruption to registry:

I have no knowledge of Coldfusion, it is quite difficult for me to
troubleshoot this problem. Our experts here may share some thoughts?

The Coldfusion is interacting with Ingres database through odbc, it shows
hanging in coldfusion application server very often (administrator has to
restart service very often). Anybody here uses coldfusion to query Ingres
database (on HP-UX)?
