Default Course Builder scoring

I'm a newbie to Dreamweaver, seen the Macromedia tutorial on scoring
Coursebuilder pages on multiple pages which i want to do but this seems quite
complicated.

Is there any other ways to do it ? Eg with cookies or by defining a variable
on the correct 'pane' of the Action manager and moving that variable over to
the next page ?

I can build great interactions using Coursebuilder but i'm having a nightmare
with the scoring. Even the demo just has a score for each question and not a
full score. Like i say i'm a newbie to Dreamweaver and my experience with
javascript is very limited.

Default Re: Course Builder scoring

To score across multiple pages and tally them up you need to use the tracking
frameset supplied with CourseBuilder (or you can create your own). Because
browsers don't maintain persistent information, each time you go to a new page
any score gets lost, that is why you need to keep track of the score in a frame
that doesn't change while the content is changing.

An easier alternative that we describe in our book (Using Dreamweaver to
Create eLearning: A comprehensive guide to CourseBuilder and Learning Site, see
www.rapidintake.com) is to put all of your interactions on one page and control
them using the Action Manager.

One other alternative is to use the a tracking system, such as an LMS. If you
haven't looked at the Learning Site extension, you might consider doing that.
It is a free tracking system designed to work with CourseBuilder (you can
download it from www.rapidintake.com/adobe). It's a little finicky, but for the
price it is great. It uses a database to keep track of scores and then posts
results to a Results page at the end of a lesson. In case it helps, it is also
covered from A-Z in our book.

Hope this helps some.
