Default Coursebuilder drag&drop in Firefox

Hello again. It looks like my newbie'ness is showing through rapidly, here!

Having fixed my problem with showing messages with SetTextofLayer... I am
straight into my next problem ;)

I created a drag & drop page. I kept everything at defaults.

When I preview under IE 6.0.29 it all works splendidly.

When I preview under Firefox 1.5 the "drag" images are not draggable.

I found some comments that suggest things work with Firefox for some people
for drag&drop... and others that suggest they don't!

I found some other comments that Dreamweaver 4/Coursebuilder was released
before Netscape 6 and doesn't work with that - but I'm on Dreamweaver MX... so
I'm hoping that things got fixed in the meantime and that they will now be able
to work.

a) has anyone got a solution for this one?
b) is there a definitive list of what works/doesn't with the current version
(CourseBuilder for Dreamweaver MX 2004, V4.3.8) I have looked on the Exchange
download and it says it works with "Internet Explorer 6,5.5,5,4,3 | Mozilla 1.0
| Netscape 7,6.2,6,4.75,4.7,4.5,4,3" so I'm assuming Mozilla 1.0 == Firefox!

I'm starting to wonder if any of it works with Firefox at all - and the last
thing I want is to be tied to only producing courses on IE.

Thanks,
Mark

Default Re: Coursebuilder drag&drop in Firefox

Ok, since posting this I've been doing lots of checking. It's odd that I can't
find things immediately on this forum but then see them via Google... anyway
I've now seen:

http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=190&thre
adid=1015620&highlight_key=y&keyword1=drag

Which suggests that other people have the problem too.

I read through, and tried, the suggestion from Danilo Celic at
http://www.communitymx.com/blog/?newsid=285 - no joy.

I wondered if this was because the drag behaviour for Dreamweaver was being
modified but that there is another script at behDragLayer.js that would need to
be altered (beyond my capability!).

More searching... I then found another comment from Danilo to apply the NS6+
patch:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?view=sn120#loc=en_us&view=s
n121&viewName=Dreamweaver%20Extension&extID=100520 2

... which kind of suggests that dragging is broken generally unless I want to
buy the extension.

I am loathe to shell out for that unless push comes to shove (money very tight
right now... I'm not just a cheapskate ;) ).

Can anyone definitively say that with my configuration how to get
coursebuilder working on the two browsers? It is starting to look like CB is
an "IE only" tool which does not sound right!

Thanks,
Mark

If I can't get it

I too am a newbie but have had the same problem. The solution I found is to delete / cut the IS FALSE and OTHERWISE choice from the Action Manager. After all, with they are not needed. Try it.
