Crashing (five times so far) when I copy alittle text box in a document
I made a little square box, in InDesign CS. Then I made a text frame, wrote a little Guarantee copy in it, moved the text frame into the box, resized both, made a copy of the two selected together (ungrouped) and CRASH.
Restarted, reset my preferences from a pristine copy of my best prefs. Opened the same document, tried the same maneuver. CRASH.
Repeat last paragraph. Saved the document (which InDesign said was damaged) under a new name. Started by repeating first paragraph. CRASH.
And so on, interminably.
The text was Optima, same as I use all the time. The box was no fill, black .5 point.
What goes?

Optima Open Type or Optima Postscript?
Try a different font, because Optima postscript has been known to cause these kind of issues in ID. I've experienced them myself. For a long time I substituted with CG Omega, but now I use Optima Open Type.

Thanks, Diane. It was Optima Postscript. I had a bunch of problems with it a few years back, bought it again, re-installed. Looks like I better install that new one again.

There is also a dfont version of Optima floating around. It would be a good idea to disable it so that you don't come up with naming conflicts.
