Create an 'instance' or duplicate??? - Adobe Indesign Windows

Illustrator has a feature where you can select an object and have it duplicate it somewhere in the workspace - and as you update the original - it updates the duplicate as well... Question: does InDesign(CS) have a similair feature? thank you, n8...

You can duplicate (Edit > Duplicate), but the copy will not be updated automatically.

Yes, duplication is an easy task...

Specifically I'm needing a method where the 'duplicate' will update along with the original though (in this case - a block of text).

    thank you,

Depending on the specific cirstances, could this be a case for a multiple
placing of a linked file, and then updating the link?

Bummer - thank you for the reply Teus...

Ken - wouldn't be very practical in this particular case...
