Default Create PDFs from Office Files

    Hi,

I've recently installed Acrobat 8 Professional on my PPC G5 (10.4.8) and seem to be having a problem with creating PDFs. It is my understanding that I should be able to create PDFs with .doc & .xls files from within AAP? It doesn't seem to be a supported file type, either in the preferences or when I try. It works fine from with the Office applications.

The documentation seems to imply you can Create PDF from file of Office file types. It also seems to imply that there is Contextual menu option in Finder (which I don't have - unless it is build your own via Automator).

The third, and final, thing is that the Help menu, under "How to", has a greyed out list of documents. Any idea as to how I turn these on?

    Thanks,

    Francis.

I believe that is available for Windows only.

We're stuck doing it the old fashion way. Either converting from within the Office applications of printing to PDF.

In Acrobat 7 open pdf the choose "Save As" the choose Word. doc or RTF.

In Acrobat 8 open Pdf choose "Export" choose Word. doc or RTF.

In ACRO8 when you get this point there is a button to set more options click on thta and see if you need to use any of those options.

    Hi, Francis.

Just open the Office document in Office and choose Print, then chose "PDF" from within the Print dialog.
