Create Simple Expandable Vertical Menu

[Pixel Pusher]

I am in a middle of an update on a project.
I have to create an expandable/collapsable text menu.
I have an image of what I an trying to do here:

So when you click on a category the menu expands vertically and the other
items have move down as well.

The menus will by eventrally driven by a database so the heights will change.

I have been experamenting with layers however the layers overlap each other.

So if any one has any code samples of a text only expandable/collapsable menu
please let me know.

I am using the tree extention and it is simple enough to incorporate database driven menus!
