Creating 2D Maps in Illustrator
Anyone with tips on creating maps (I create them mainly for brochures/print) with a 2D perspective. I'm not a very good artist; is there a plugin that would convert a flat map to a 2D? I use Illustrator 9.0 and draw maps constantly. My current method is tracing over an existing map. I want to sharpen up some on my brochures with a nice 2D effect.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Creating 2D Maps in Illustrator
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the ones you are making now in two dimensions?
Do you mean 3d?

Re: Creating 2D Maps in Illustrator
I'm Sorry...I guess it would be 3D. The maps to which I am referring usually have a horizon and the streets are drawn in perspective. Thanks for the correction.

Re: Creating 2D Maps in Illustrator
Mark,
If your draw them in 2-d, then convert lines to outlines, then use the freetransform tool {q} to create perspective (ie click corner, hold down ctrl, then drag corner) you can get a nice 3-d effect.
