creating a "hidden" link - Macromedia Dreamweaver

I'm in DreamWeaver 4, in a windows system. I have included a new graphic on our page and would like a "floating" link over the graphic. I can't seem to make the link "invisible". In Netscape 7.1 the link is hanging over the graphic just about where I want it, but how do I "hide" the link - so that the "link hand" shows up when moused over? It's not where I want it in Explorer, but one problem at a time, right? Please see the page at http://www.cobbtechnolgies.com/DDDfront/index.htm Thanks -Tina Referring URLs http://www.cobbtechnologies.com/DDDfront/index.htm...

Your best bet is to make an image map.
Have a look here http://www.billowsprotocol.com/prepress_agents.htm
The map has image maps to link to other parts of the page.

Hope this helps

this is only my 2nd answer so if i'm way off the mark - sorry

but i think you might need to draw a 'hot-spot' over the torch icon

take the layer out (with the word Torch)

click on the image - in the properties panel you will see some cyan circles / squares etc. click on the cyan circle, draw over the torch symbol, click on the drawn circle and enter the link in the link box. this will link up to a page only when clicked over torch icon.

is that what you mean? if you want the 'hand' to appear when there is no link you create a CSS style for it.

hope this helps

i'll try that. by saying i want a hand to appear, i just mean so that the user will know that they have moused over an active link.
wish me luck!
