Default /cfusion/webforums/forum/mm_login.cfm?&loc=en_us

just take a look at the cromeLib, there are some behaviors where you can select a model in the getpropertydescriptionlist handler. you can learn how its done there.

actually, the problem isn't in accessing models, I need to know how to create a
list within gpdl. i need to be able to apply multiple variables to one
property in the dialog box when attaching a behavior to a sprite.

ok... I'm trying this, not sure if it's possible. I'm using #string as the
#format, then just typing in all the model names that I need in the list into
the dialog box. this creates one large string... how can i convert this one big
string into a bunch of individual strings to make it a list?

If I understand what you want, you type in a series of model names in your
behavior parameters dialog box and would like to turn this into a Lingo list.
What you can do then is to separate each model name with a coma, like this:
CarBody,WheelFL,WheelFR Then add this snippet to your already existing
behavior code. This is from my head, so check the syntax but you get the idea.
property spriteNum property pMember -- The W3D cast member property
pModelNames -- The list holding model names in getPropertyDescriptionList
property pModels -- The list holding the model references on beginSprite
me pMember = sprite(spriteNum).member set the itemDelimiter = ','
pModels = [] repeat with i=1 to the number of items in pModelNames
theModelName = pModelNames if ilk(pMember.model(theModelName)) = #model
then pModels.append(pMember.model(theModelName) end if end repeat
end beginSprite Best regards, Karl Sigiscar. http://www.chromelib.com

Correction :
theModelName = pModelNames -- and not theModelName = pModelNames[]

Ahem...

Actually, the FuseTalk forum system interprets [ i ] (without spaces) as an italic tag. Forgot that...

With the item delimiter, you can also type model names with spaces - e.g
Classic Table 01,Design Table,Stool 01,Stool 02 If you want to be able to type
model names with extraneous spaces before and after - e.g Classic Table 01,
Design Table, Stool 01 , Stool 02, you can use the LTrim and RTrim functions in
the LingoText class by Luke Wigley to get rid of extraneous characters the user
might type:
