Creating a MAC OS X projector
I have a director file that I?ve successfully created a Mac OS 9 projector from. When I create a projector to run in OS X, I get an error message when I come to run the projector in OS X.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
Hi,
First, what version of Director are you using? Currently, only dir MX can
create projectors that will run natively in OSX. What is the exact error
message that you got?

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
I think I am experiencing a similar problem. I have just finished creating an elaborate project with director 8.5. It consistes of a stub projector made with director 8.5 and several connected direcotr 8.5 movies (protected). Realizing that my projector won't run on MacOsX I would like to create an OSX projector using Director MX. But before I update my OS to OSX (currently running Classic) I wanted to know if it's possible to link an OSX projector created with Director MX to my older director 8.5 movies.
If so, great!
If not, can I at least update them within Director MX?
Thanks,
Inger-Lise.

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
Hi,
In Director MX, you can create a stub projector for classic OS and another
stub for OSX. Then both stubs can link to the same protected dir movies.
Does this answer your question?

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
I?m using Director MX.
The message I get is a ?Script error? I think. It?s been a while since I?ve been able to look at it. What?s strange is that there are no problems with the OS 9 version.
I?m creating the OS X projector in exactly the same way as the OS 9 version - All I?m changing is the option to create the projector for OS X.

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
You know that you have to have separate extras for the two versions. OS9 and
OSX. I think you're getting a script error because you don't have the OSX
xtras.

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
hi mark,
If you get a script error in a projector and not during authoring, then you
may be missing an Xtra needed by the projector. Are you using external Xtras
folder? If so, make sure you have both for Classic and OSX. Make sure that
all the Xtras needed are included.

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
That may well be the reason - I was just using the extras that I created for OS 9.
How would I find out which extras I need for the OS X version?
Sorry guys but I?m new to director - forgive me if I?m asking silly questions!

Re: Creating a MAC OS X projector
Thank you Mike,
Yeah I think I get it now, I need a stub projector for Classic and another stub projector for Mac OSX which must be made with Director MX. And I'm assuming that these stub projectors can call my existing director movies made with Director 8.5. Have I got that right?
Thanks AGAIN,
Inger-Lise
