Creating a serach form

    Default Creating a serach form

I wish to create search page and results page for searching an Access Database
using asp. The Databse has several tables with several relationships between
them. It is basically a database of student records with several tables
storing various types of data about each student. I want the student name to be
chosen and then the other data to be a choice (through the use of checkboxes)
This way teachers do not have to have 'all' the information about a student
record. I am sure the answer to this question is far beyond the scope of this
forum but can someone at least point me in the direction of a tutorial. I am
running winxp pro with Dreamweave MX 2004. I am using ISS as a server. This
is my first attempt at this. I have built the database and a secure login for
the search section but have no idea how to build the search pages and such.
    Thanks Darren

I suggest that you look at the sample apps section on the MM site,
particularly the trio motors example as this will help you out. Although it
uses CF the steps are the same for ASP

OK, I have the Studio MX Book and am walking myself through the Tri Motors
tutorial. Seems straight forward.....however, when I go back to my search form
to add the Data Set to the list menu I do not have the Dynamic Button! I only
have the List Values button! How can I do this without. I am using
Dreameweaver MX 2004. Is there a way around this? Thanks. Darren
