creating csv's from asp
Can anyone pls help.
I'm just getting into asp and I want to do something that, in Access I could
probably do with my eyes shut but, in asp it seems to be just about an
impossibility. I've read the books and the kb articles and none seem to work
for my intranet server or the web server I'm uploading to.
I want to save (export?) the contents of a recordset (sql query) to a file
on the server then attach it to an email to send to an administrator.
I've tried various forms of ADO - connections, records, streams and each
seems to give one error or another.
It is driving me demented.

Re: creating csv's from asp
Are you getting an error creating the recordset, or are you trying some
method that's throwing the error?
You should be able to use the GetString method on the recordset to
create csv format, something like this (not sure about the chr(10) &
chr(13) syntax, may have to play with that):
sCsvFormatString = rs.GetString(,,",",chr(10) & chr(13),"null text")
Then use FileSystemObject to write that out to a file. Full details
here:

6/html/FSOoriFileSystemObject.asp
If you run into trouble, please post the code you're using and the
specific error message (number and text) you're getting.
