Creating new link with template returns error

I have created a test site to understand contribute. I created the site in css
and there is an index file. I have also created a .dwt with two editable
regions for adding a new page.

The user logs on to contribute, goes into the left editable region, adds a
word, highlights it and hits "create a new page". The page is then created off
the .dwt template and hits OK. Then I recieve an error, " you cannot perfrom
this action in this region of page." so I hit ok. But everything after that
works fine. And I continue on...

So my questions are, what is the error? and how do I get rid of it?... here is

I think that you may need to click on the link button first to create the path, then you get the choice of selecting the New Page option. This may get over the problem. PS I use a mac.
