    Default Creating outlines from type

I'm trying to create outlines from type in Illustrator CS and it won't let me (option is grayed out). Anybody have a clue what's wrong? I work on an emac with OS Panther but didn't purchase any new fonts when I got my new computer in November 2003. I was previously using an imac. Are there problems with old fonts on the new OS? I have True Type, Open and Adobe fonts. Thanks!

Default Re: Creating outlines from type

If you highlight the text the Create Outlines menu will be grayed out.

If you select the type with one of the object Selection tool the Create Outlines menu will be available.
