creating static htmls with content from an database - Macromedia Dreamweaver

This isnīt especially realated to NOF but perhaps someone here can give me some help on how i can achieve the following: I want to create multiple (static) htmlīs which shall include datafields from an database (MS-Access). I want to have some sort of template with keywords in which are then replaced with data from the database. for example: Database: Column1 Column2 Column3 ... Line1: text1 url1-1 url1-2 Line2: text2 url2-1 url2-2 Line3: text3 url3-1 url3-2 .... ... ... ... Template: <HTML> <HEAD> <script> blah blah blah </script> </HEAD> <BODY> <h1>##column1##</h1> blah blah blah <a href="##column2##"> <img src="##column3##"> </a> blah ...

    This isnīt especially realated to NOF but perhaps someone here can give me
    some help on how i can achieve the following:

    I want to create multiple (static) htmlīs which shall include datafields
    from an database (MS-Access).
    I want to have some sort of template with keywords in which are then
    replaced with data from the database.

    for example:
    Database:
    Column1 Column2 Column3 ...
    Line1: text1 url1-1 url1-2
    Line2: text2 url2-1 url2-2
    Line3: text3 url3-1 url3-2
    .... ... ... ...

    Template:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <script>
    blah blah blah
    </script>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <h1>##column1##</h1>
    blah blah blah
    <a href="##column2##"> <img src="##column3##"> </a>
    blah blah blah
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    than the template would be used to create one html for every line in the
    database.
    so for html-1 this would mean:
    ##column1## would be replaced with text1
    ##column2## would be replaced with url1-1
    ##column3## would be replaced with url1-2

    for html-2:
    ##column1## would be replaced with text2
    ##column2## would be replaced with url2-1
    ##column3## would be replaced with url2-2

    and so on for every line in the database.

    so the question is how can i achieve this?
    perhaps there are even professional programs available which can do this?

    thanks in advance,
    Mikk

    no i have no server side language. thats exactly my problem.

    but i know that such tools exist. while searching on the net i found an old
    program (1997) which was doing exactly what i described but unfortunately it
    was not developed on since then and does neither support ms-access nor long
    filenames.

    Hi

    Even that must access the database with something other than pure html,
    pure html on it's own cannot interact with a database.

    I hate to state the obvious, would it not be beneficial to get a host
    that supports the technology that you want to use? Once you have access
    to a servre side language your goals are simple to achieve.

    you could do this on your own local machine and then upload the results.
    there are ways of generating static pages, using FSO (if you use ASP), i use
    it to do the equivalent of a mail merge when sending HTML emails to members.

    hm, as i donīt have server side languages available my knowledge of them is
    very limited.
    i think it should be possible to do it without learning new "languages"

    so far iīve learned of two possible solutions:
    1. using Netobjects Fusion
    ->this has some problems as it can not insert data into javascripts or other
    non body areas (at least i havenīt found out yet how)

    2. http://www.fogcreek.com/CityDesk/
    ->this program looks like it can do what i described but seems to have some
    limitations aswell (also problems with javaareas)

    perhaps someone knows other programs like this ?
