Crop Doesn't Change Page Size?

Default Crop Doesn't Change Page Size?

I have a PDF that's Letter Size - 8.5w x 11h - and I want it to be half-page size - 8.5w X 5.5h. However, it seems that by going in to the Document > Pages > Crop menu and cropping 5.5 inches off the bottom, I don't really change the page size, just set some kind of suggested crop area.

The reason this is a problem is that I subsequently generate documents (using ActivePDF's Toolkit), which uses the Page Size to determine the size, not the crop box area. Is there some way to actually change the page size?

    Thanks.

Crop in Acrobat then print to a new PDF using a custom page size, or use Enfocus PitStop to change the page boxes.

Thanks for the advice - sadly, the first option is no good (need to preserve form fields) and the second ($600!!!) is too much money just for this one file.

    Any other thoughts?

Do the first option but save the PDF under a new name. Open the original PDF then do Document > Replace Pages (Acro 5) or Document > Pages > Replace (Acro 6) and select the new PDF. Your underlying document will be replaced but the form fields remain.
