Cross domain sound problems with 9.0.115.0, when runningAVM1 movies in AS3 wrapper - Macromedia Flash Player

Hello, I also posted this on the Adobe Labs forums, wasn't sure if that was the correct place. This is quite a strange problem, I'll try to describe it as best I can: - AS3Movie loads AS2MovieA. Both are on Domain A. AS2MovieA is published for FP7. - AS2MovieA loads AS2MovieB (on Domain B), which is also published for FP7. It has an allowDomain() call to allow cross-domain scripting from AS2MovieA. - AS2MovieA creates a movieclip in AS2MovieB, for a sound object. - AS2MovieA creates a new Sound object, passing in that movieclip to the constructor. - AS2MovieA calls attachSound ...

Default Cross domain sound problems with 9.0.115.0, when runningAVM1 movies in AS3 wrapper

Hello, I also posted this on the Adobe Labs forums, wasn't sure if that was the
    correct place.

This is quite a strange problem, I'll try to describe it as best I can:

    - AS3Movie loads AS2MovieA. Both are on Domain A. AS2MovieA is published for
    FP7.
    - AS2MovieA loads AS2MovieB (on Domain B), which is also published for FP7. It
has an allowDomain() call to allow cross-domain scripting from AS2MovieA.
    - AS2MovieA creates a movieclip in AS2MovieB, for a sound object.
    - AS2MovieA creates a new Sound object, passing in that movieclip to the
    constructor.
    - AS2MovieA calls attachSound on that new Sound, passing in linkage ID of a
sound in the library of AS2MovieB.
    - AS2MovieA calls start() on the sound, and also uses Sound.duration to get
    the length.

This has worked fine in Flash since Flash Player 7 up to 9.0.47.0. In this new
release, although a Sound object is created, calling start() does nothing, and
the duration is undefined. I noticed this had broken our site, and have since
been able to recreate it with a simple test rig.

The two important things here are:
    a) The fact it's all running in an AS3 wrapper. If AS2MovieA is run
    standalone, it's fine.
    b) The fact that AS2MovieA and AS2MovieB are on different domains. If they are
on the same domain, it's fine.

I'm not sure if this is a bug in the new player or something I have missed in
any security changes that have happened.

I know it's quite an obscure problem, but it has broken our website (which
accepts payments) so for us is very serious, so any advice would be greatly
appreciated. Obviously I need to get this fixed asap, and therefore in the
short term, modifying and recreating all the external sound .swfs (ie.
    AS2MovieB) is not an option.

    Thanks,
    Adam

Adam, please open a support case (via phone if you can so we can get it escalated more quickly) and provide your sample setup and we'll have somebody check it out.

Got it. I've asked the UK folks to get on top of this. You will be asked to provide -trimmed down- sample files, so get prepared for that. :)
