    Default Cross Platform CD

    Hello.

For the first time I'm creating a cross platform CD and looking for a little advice.

I realise that the Xtras and any linked dir files can be accessed by both projectors. My query comes to the actual burning of the CD. Is it best to get the Mac projector onto a Mac and burn the CD from there as PC CD's also run on Macs?

    Any advice would be great.

    Many thanks for your time.
    Meeesta.

Not the xtras! The xtras are different for Mac and PC.

Use Roxio Toast on the Mac to burn. It has the ability to write hybrid CDs which
have both ISO/Joliet and HFS portions.

The best way is to make hybrid cd on with a burning program on the mac.
The easy way is (if the project < half a cd size) to burn a pc version and a mac version on a mac on one cd.

Thanks for getting back to me.

You say burn PC version, would I burn the Pc version on a PC machine, and then on a seperate session, on a Mac burn the Mac version?

Or do I get the PC files/projectors onto a Mac and burn a hybrid CD from there. If I burn a hybrid CD do all file names have to be 7 characters or under? Lastly would any CD burning software do on the Mac or do have a specific brand in mind?

    Cheers,

bring your projects on the mac. Burn it there. You can choose for hybrid in the burning program.
The easy way is: do on the pc format the whole pc project and on the mac format the whole mac project.

the difficult way is to share the dxr files etc.

Thanks for the reply Andrew, "Not the xtras! The xtras are different for Mac and PC."

I'd unfortunately already done a burn and discovered this. Lesson learned and a disc in the bin.

    Cheers,
