CS and CS2 compatibility clarification?
Hi,
reading the forums here to try to solve the CS and CS2 compatability issues, I am still a little unclear. I have five machines in my office, some running CS some running CS2. I've updated all the CS machines with the proper updater so that they are v3.0.1, but still cannot open files that have been created or midified in CS2.
Do I need to open and export as inx EVERY file that I want to open in CS before opening it?

Re: CS and CS2 compatibility clarification?
Yes. CS build 838 can read .inx files exported by CS2. There are some potential issues even then with color management if the file has missing links. This can cause CS to crash. Temporarily switching off color management while you convert gets around the problem.

Re: CS and CS2 compatibility clarification?
In addition, don't expect perfection especially if you use features in
CS2 that don't exist in CS. Further to that, don't expect those feature
to survive a round trip, once the file is opened in CS, all of the CS2
features are lost.
You are far better off upgrading the CS machines to CS2.
