CS:Automatic Text Frame
For you QuarkXPress veterans:
I'm seekign the equivalent of linking the text chain icon on a master page to a text frame on that page.
For those who read that at Greek:
I want to make a text frame on my master page the default that is automatically linked to other pages whenever pages are added. It should also let me add pages whenever text flows past the end of my document.
I'm having trouble parsing the documentation and help files here.

Re: CS:Automatic Text Frame
File > New. Check Master Text Frame.
You can use that with automatic text flow when you hold down the Shift key when placing text. (However, automatic text flow works without the master frames as well; then it uses the page margins.)
However, InDesign doesn't automatically add pages during the editing process, only when placing.

So where do I find the Time Machine feture, or is that a plug in?
Seems that I can't do that to this file, as it already exists.

Re: CS:Automatic Text Frame
You don't have to use Master Frame. Any frames you place on master pages can be used for automatic text flow.
Imagine this:
You have a left-right master page. On the left master, you create a sidebar text frame 1" wide and a larger main text frame to the right of it. On the right master, you create mirror image of that arrangement with the sidebar on the outside. You want text to flow from sidebar frame left to sidebar frame right. Use the Selection tool, and click on the sidebar frame left on the "out port" at the bottom of the frame. Move it over the sidebar frame on the right, and click to link the frames. Do the same to link the main frames on the master page.
Now you go to the document page based on this master. You want to flow main text through multiple pages. Choose File > Place, and choose the document to place. When you get the text placement cursor, hold down the Shift key, and click over the left main frame. Text will flow from the main frame on that page (say page 1) to the main frame on the right page (say page 2), and will continue left to right to left to rigbht, and so on, adding pages as necessary.
Similarly, you can use autoflow on the sidebar frames in a similar way.
