CS converts solid area to gradient area when opening an older file??
Anyone seen this before? I opened a file from Illustrator 9 using CS, and a 20% black screen became a linear gradient from about 20% to 1%. Is there a reason for this?

Re: CS converts solid area to gradient area when opening an older file??
Hi, Sinclair
Interesting...
What was it applied to? Text? Object? Group?
Was it a part of complex appearance?
Is it one only object or there's more than one?
Could you provide the file to check it out?
Cheers ;)

Re: CS converts solid area to gradient area when opening an older file??
I'm sorry, don't know how to insert a file or even a jpg image here.
It's a logo containing a simple circle outline with a 20% black fill done in Mac Illustrator 9.
I open it in CS Illustrator 11, and the fill shows up as a linear gradient. The CS file name adds the word "[converted]" to the original file name, but there's no text in the file.
This is not a 'bug' others have come across?
