CS on Panther vs. 10 on OS9. Missing Font
I recently upgraded to CS and had to make the Panther upgrade at the same time. I used to work with AI10 under OS9 previously.
I've tried to install all the fonts that were available under OS9 and ATM so that they are available under OSX, but there is one frequently used font that neither CS nor AI10 recognizes under Panther:
Optima Roman
This font is availble in other OSX-applications, such as TextEdit.
However, there is an "Optima Regular" available, which I guess stems from an OpenType font.
So why is it that CS or 10 doesn't recoginze this font on OSX.
Is there a fix to this problem?
Thanks,
Agnar

I know that some fonts that are recognized under os10 arent recognized under os9, perhaps the reverse is true also?

Did you try to replace it with the Optima Regular? Does it seem the same or is there a reflow issue?

I've tried, and it works. But when I send the file back to our customer which works in OS9, he will not have Optima Regular, but Optima Roman on his system. Optima Regular, I guess, is an Open Font type.

Re: AI10 on OS9 vs OSX. Missing Font
The fix was to remove the Openfont-Optima from the system. It appears that illustrator would use the Optima regular form the OpenFonr version as the main Optima face, overriding the Adobe Type 1, Roman main face.
I can do well without the features that the open font gives me in any case, so why have it in my system.
