CS2 Shared swatch palette - Adobe Indesign Macintosh

Is there a CS2 feature that would allow me to link my doents (InD and AI) to a set of swatches so that a swatch palette can be edited/changed and its changes reflected to any doents set to use those swatch values? Kind of like linking to an image, but instead, linking to a swatch palette? Is there a CS2 feature that would allow me to link my doents (InD and AI) to a set of swatches so that a swatch palette can be edited/changed and its changes reflected to any doents set to use those swatch values?

Kind of like linking to an image, but instead, linking to a swatch palette?

My company puts out a magazine every month, and the color scheme used in each issue is determined by whatever photograph we run on the cover. Often times, I have the content of the mag before I have the cover shot. Within InD its easy enough to reassign CMYK values to my named swatches that are used in my paragraph styles and other graphic accents, but it would be nice not have to have to go back into all of my linked files and change the colors used in each of my links (several PDF illustration and page headers).

I've found some info on Adobe Swatch Exchange, but that seems to simply allow me to import identical swatch copies into various doents, but doesn't seem to retain a link to the actual ASE file, meaning that I still have to go through each file and import those swatches after I've decided on the final color palette.

I also saw one reference in a different thread that made mention of "Adobe Color Book", but I can't seem to find out any additional information about what that is or how to use it.

    Does something like this exist?

You can't link to an ASE file. You'll need to distribute the ASE file to
anyone needing it or set up templates using those colors.

    Thanks Bob.
I assumed that was the case with ASE files, but I appreciate you confirming it.
The problem is that I need to layout/design alot of the content inside the mag before the color scheme has been finalized.
