Re: [CS2] Text along the inside curve of an ellipse
Well, I may be greener than yourself, but if it were me, I think I would
create the required graphic in Illustrator, (you do have the CS suite?),
then export that sucker out as an eps. One thing you may wish to watch
for is being sure you create alpha channels for the clear areas of the logo.
Doing such text-on-curves is fairly easy in illustrator, as it has as an
option for the text tool, the very option needed to create curved text.
Since you've been working in the field for as long as you have, I'll
dispense with the step-by-step approach- I think once you start you'll
see how the tool works quite nicely.
Good luck.

Re: Text along the inside curve of an ellipse
In Illustrator, I would split the path into 2 parts, top and bottom.
Use the scissors tool to cut on the left and right side points of the
ellipse. Then the text tool will let you put text on the path, center
it, etc. You can slide it around with by the "I" bar insertion point.
Same for the text on the bottom, but you used to be able to
double-click on it to get it flipped around the right way. Now ytou
have to go to Type>Type on a Path>Type on a Path Options and click on
"Flip".

No need to use the scisssors. Type the top text copy the whole circle and
text, paste it up front, and drag on the I beam the top one down under.
Dragging the I beam up will flip the text to the bottom inside also. Use one
of the options in the Character Palette to lower it down so the top touches
the circle and everythinmg is symmetrical.
