cs3 crashes on mac

I had Contribute 4 on my iMac and was unhappy about how it used to crash when
I imported a big Word file. So I bought CS3 and expected it would work better.
It still crashes if asked to do anything slightly taxing. I cant see why i
bought it..it seems NO different. Nicer box though....any suggestions as to how
to make the program stay working???

Now the program crashes even when pasting small amounts of text not related to word.
Very disappointing.
