CS3 not reading CS2 files
I have a colleague who is running indesign CS3 and it won't open the CS2 files I'm producing. She's tried the patch download posted elsewhere and it's made no difference. What are we doing wrong?

Re: CS3 not reading CS2 files
Unless your friend is heavily into industrial espionage, you need to check your version numbers again. 8)
The possible version are:
InDesign 5.0 (CS3) - Not due out until Q2, 2007!
InDesign 4.0 (CS2)
InDesign 3.0 (CS)
InDesign 2.0

Re: CS3 not reading CS2 files
There is no CS3. CS is version 3 and CS2 is version 4. You are trying to open a CS2 file is CS.

Thanks guys - she just got confused on the version number then. She's now buying an upgrade to CS2. Mistery solved, much appreciated.

If it opens or not is dependent on a few factors, the first of which is whether or not you have the 838 build of CS1. To find this out, hold down the command key and choose About InDesign.
If says it is Version 3.01 (838), then it should be able to open the CS2 InDesign Interchange (.inx) file. But whether it will or not is something that varies from doc to doc, unfortunately...
