Default CSS for HTML newsletters?

Thanks in advance for any advice...

I am looking at switching our HTML newsletter from using font tags to using
CSS, but I have only found one article on the subject
(http://www.campaignmonitor.com/blog/archives/2005/02/using_style_she.html) and
I am not sure that I want to jump on one person's advice.

Has anyone else started using CSS in the header of their HTML newsletters? Is
there any reason to avoid putting CSS in HTML newsletters?

thanks - dawn

Yes, I have. No there is not. You have to make sure that the CSS is
EMBEDDED within the body of the email, though, e.g.,

<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<style type="text/css">
rules
</style>
content
</body>
</html>

or that it is used inline on the page.
