Default CSS from Fireworks MX 2004

Now that DWMX 2004 is so CSS focussed and savvy, how do we get our designs out of Fireworks MX 2004 into DW without creating tables?

There seems to be nothing around about this - strange. Macromedia are trying to get everyone to dump tables in DW so how do we change our practices in FW to suit?

I'm also talking about very graphical interfaces, not the very ordered, grid-like samples that they're using in their tutorials.

    Any hints out there?

The option to export slices as CSS layers has been available in the last
three versions of Fireworks. It has been pretty much overlooked. I
suspect that people will soon begin taking advantage of it.

In my opinion, ordered, gridlike interfaces are characteristic of good
design. Regardless of peoples opinion on this subject, it's anyway a
    limitation of the medium.

Thanks Linda for pointing that out. I had never paid the CSS layer export a moment's notice. I'll give it a try.

I agree that grids and order are good but some clients and situations call for a more organic approach and look. I need to establish ways of doing more experimental layouts in DW and FW. Here I go!

If you need assymetric slicing, then you will be much better off just using
FW to create the images which are assembled on the page in DW using Standard
mode layout and building the tables yourself.
