CSS help!!!

I am desperately trying to understand why a site that I have created with pure
css layout that works in every tested browser looks so terrible in contribute
3. I have followed the instructions in one of the tutorials I read on this site
concerning implementing pure css layout and am not getting the desired results.
Basically almost every area looks bad and the text areas have a black
background which makes it impossible to read. Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect you have a background-color defined for the html tag. Remove it and the "highlighting" effect should go away. The background-color on the body tag doesn't seem to make a difference.

Contribute 3 doesn't support CSS very well. Better CSS support is one of the touted features of CS3.
