CSV files in CFMX
The following worked in CF5:
<cfset myConnectString = "Driver={Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt; *.csv)};Dbq="
& ExpandPath("../Data/DataDir") &
"\;Extensions=csv;Uid=Tester;Pwd=test;Persist Security Info=False;">
<cfquery name="DataA" dbtype="dynamic" connectstring="#myConnectString#">
select StockID
from DataFile.csv
</cfquery>
I am converting to CF 7 and I just found out that cfquery connectstring has
been deprecated as of CF 6.
Based on reading these forums, I think I need to use cfquery datasource to
select from a CSV file.
If so, do I just defined a datasource in CF Administrator to use the Microsoft
Text Driver, then use that name as my cfquery datasource?
So, my code would be:
<cfquery name="DataA" datasource="csvFiles">
select StockID
from `D:\inetpub\Data\DataDir\DataFile.csv`
</cfquery>
From reading, I think that the datasource name can be used with any csv file.
It is just a pointer to the correct driver?
Will my solution work?
