CSV problem
Hi all:
I have a CSV file which i have to upload into a MS Access DB. File is uploaded
from a form like this:
<cffile action="upload"
destination="e:\inetpub\wwwroot\radiacionmca\archi vos\consolidados"
nameConflict="makeunique"
fileField="Form.archivocons">
<cfquery name="sincro" datasource="rite" debug="yes">
SELECT
asset_code,serial_no,location,located,commission,a ssdate,vesselcode,vesselsn,shi
eldcode,shieldsn,last_date,wtd,wtby,wtad,sad,saby
FROM
e:\inetpub\wwwroot\radiacionmca\archivos\consolida dos\#cffile.ClientFileName#.#c
ffile.ClientFileExt#
</cfquery>
When i open the CSV file in EXCELL i get all data displayed but i notice that
(i.e. serial_no and wtd fields or columns) there are two data types: WTD column
is as data format but some are text data. When i display data read from the CSV
file i get Blank Space for the strings in Date format and the correct string
for the text format cells.
Another case is (i.e. serial_no field) some data are numeric and some
alphanumeric, i can display the strings containing only numeric data and get
blanck spaces for the alphanumeric.
Is there a way to validate each cases?
Regards
Victor
