Cursor keeps blinking between hour glass and tool...
I just reinstalled Illustrator 9 onto my new HP Pavilion... I am still running Windows XP Home Edition. Everytime I open Illustrator the cursor just keeps blinking between the hour glass and the pointer (or any other tool)... I wouldn't even mind really, but the text tool doesn't work at all and that is a big problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times and nothing has changed. I was all over the website looking for some simple solution and came up with 0...If anyone can help me out I will be eterally grateful!

If you have Norton Recycle Bin Protection active on that machine disable
protection for *.LST files or, better still, disable the Recycle Bin
Protection completely.
