Default Customer Sign-off on Approved Artwork

I'm not well-versed in Acrobat and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if they have found a good, easy process for documenting customer approval of artwork. We've been relying on emails with the attached pdf for approval but we'd like to have the approval as a part of the pdf. I know that pdfs can be digitally signed but I'm concerned that it will be too difficult for some of out clients. I also don't want to spend a lot of time putting form fields into each proof that goes out. So I thought I'd ask other people how they handle this process. Is there a quick, easy and secure process for getting a customer signature for approval on pdfs?
    Thanks for your help,
    Julie

For low-tech clients, use low-tech methods: Add a cover sheet to the PDF which has an approval area. Have the client print out the page, sign the approval area with a pen, and fax it to you!

It may take more work to set up than you want to invest, but you might consider setting up a web page for approval, rather than using email. The client can download the pdf by clicking a link on the web page, and can approve or not approve each page online with a simple radio-button. You can set up post data to send you an email with their response.

If you have a lot of clients who need private pages, though, you should dedicate a domain to this. My understanding is that having pages that are not linked publicly will demote your site in the search engines, so you don't want to use the main domain of your primary website.
