    Default customise pull-down options

I would like to , for example. add "1.5 pts' to the available choices in the stroke width pull down menu. There must be a file somewhere I can edit and an explanation of what's in it and how to change it, right?

    Thanks,

No there is not though more customization was a feature request I made once or twice.

This would be the type of customization one would expect. Even the ability of saving sets of stroke widths. Though you could make brushes as a kind of work around.

....or create graphic style libraries that contain your most desired stroke weights, colours etc. Simple and useful.

Again, for instance. the type sizes , leading, spacing and compression settings in th character window. I can't tell you how many times I've used character spacing over 200.

There is a file somewhere containing these things, at least I hope there is.

I have made do with workarounds as you suggest, using styles, macros but not yet with the brushes.

That file is around somewhere, here's hoping

Joe has a good feature request Kurt though you do have a good suggestion for a specific use.

If you had specific settings for strokes and many presets for various clients the Joe's way would be better. For instance just give it the name of the client that you use these settings for all the time, IBM, American Airlines, etc.

Joe this would be an excellent feature.

While the feature you're requesting ain't there yet, there are a couple of tips you may be overlooking. All of the value fields in Illustrator's palettes can be highlighted for entry by clicking on the little icon in front of the field (you don't have to drag through the field). Hold down the Shift key when clicking on the little up/down arrow to move the value in increments of 6 or 10 (depending on the field). Do the same thing from the keyboard by using the Shift key and up/down arrow keys. Also, all the value fields can do math. If stroke weight is set for 100, for example, you can click in the field after the 100 and type "* (times symbol) 5" to multiply it by 5 (500).
