Cutting and pasting special characters from Word intoContribute
When cutting and pasting documents form Word into Contribute 3, most special
characters seem to get translated incorrectly into their corresponding HTML
escape characters. Smart quotes, TM, m and n dashes, and ellipsoids often look
okay in the contribute editor, but then end up as garbage in the browser.
Looking at the page in Dreamweaver, I can see the the character was not
replaced correctly, but to the site contributor, this is particularly painful,
because they often cannot even see the broken character until the page is
published.
Am I simply missing an site administration setting, or is there a better way
to handle the cut-and-paste from Word?

Re: Cutting and pasting special characters from Wordinto Contribute
Usually it gives you the option to insert a word document as plain text, or to
keep word formatting. What version of Contribute are you using, and does this
dialogue come up when you insert a word doc?

Re: Cutting and pasting special characters from Wordinto Contribute
3.11. I guess I should say that I am not trying to insert the entire document, but rather insert parts of it into DW defined editable regiouns on the page.
Saddly, no dialog.
