Dapper Drake/Kubuntu oddities

Just upgraded to Dapper. Actually I did clean install of it.

1. Fast User switching either be missing or gone.
2. Kontact no longer has a "News" tab. I had to install knode.
3. The upgrades break my nvidia-glx install every time!

Will the above be fixed in the final release?

Wait.... after installing knode, and restarting Kontact, I now have the
news tab. :-)

Any ideas on the fast user switching. That one is turning out to be a PIA.

I know that, when I start X manually from the CLI by issuing $startx at
boot time I do not get the fast user switching. If KDE opens on its own
then the option is there.
