Data base label printing - Mac Applications & Software

I'm looking to create a small data base of about 25 names of names and address to use for printing labels, with the ability, if required, to select only those labels to be printed. Any suggestions which application I could use and which make of labels would be compatible? SYSTEM: macintosh G4; 466Mhz; OS 10.2.6; 896 Mb RAM -- Peter. If I have a sheet of 10 labels, and only print to 6 of them, is there a
decent interface for using the remaining 4 labels? Or would the other 4
    labels be lost for good?

If you're only printing a few labels at a time, the simplest thing to do
is make yourself a template either in the database segment of Appleworks
or the drawing section, then copy and paste addresses into the slots for
each label. I regularly print two labels at a time, and I just look at
the sheet of labels, see which labels are left to print on and fill in
    those slots on the template.

In fact you could do it in Excel, or the spreadsheet part of AW as well.

Thanks. Just needed a prod in the right direction. :)

Either fill the used places with blank data, or put the sheet of
labels in backwards, or construct layouts with large header areas.

Which is best depends on frequency of need, the types of labels
[e.g. if they have a definite top & bottom], etc.

Whether you should 'waste' the remaining labels also depends on
your printer and the labels [half-sheets in laser printers are not
a good idea; likewise easy-peel labels in printers that have
    tight-turns in the paper path]

ClarisWorks / AppleWorks (same program, different versions)
would do this with no problems.
