data variable = zero or null, then print "n/a" - Macromedia ColdFusion

since my cfm application will be a constant source of periodically updated information, some of which will be temporarily incomplete records, when coldfusion encounters a db field which contains no data (or in the case of currency listed in my mdb, CF will encounter $0.00) i want my cfoutput (?) to print a standard word or phrase to indicate to the visitor that the information is temporarily unavailable. in other words my scenario for an example output might look like this: Led Zeppelin June 12th, 2005 Ticket Price (missing currency value) w/ special guest (blank data field) i would like ...

    Default data variable = zero or null, then print "n/a"

    since my cfm application will be a constant source of periodically updated
    information, some of which will be temporarily incomplete records, when
    coldfusion encounters a db field which contains no data (or in the case of
    currency listed in my mdb, CF will encounter $0.00) i want my cfoutput (?) to
    print a standard word or phrase to indicate to the visitor that the information
    is temporarily unavailable.

    in other words my scenario for an example output might look like this:

    Led Zeppelin
    June 12th, 2005
    Ticket Price (missing currency value)
    w/ special guest (blank data field)

    i would like it to print something like this for my visitors: "information
    temporarily unavailable"

    suggestions?

    what tags do i need to study to perform this function in my application?

    <cfoutput query="qry">
    <cfif #val(qry.fld)# eq 0>
    [empty]
    <cfelse>
    #fld#
    </cfif>
    </cfoutput>
