Default Database link problems? Better read this.

If your Event viewer shows this, the reason is that ColdFusion SequeLink
Service is incompatible with Windows 64 bit and 64 bit hardweare architecture.

I assume that Macromedia is aware of this. Had to be.
Shame that a lot of people had to put up with the stress associated with this.
I know that this forum is visited by mostly 'newbies' and I can not expect any
help, but I beleive that you need to be made aware of this conflict.
Going to post this all over the internet, every blogg, forum, Microsoft
TechNet (which I am a member of) complaining hole I can
get my mouse to click on.

How about just doing a proper SDLC.

Macromedia- Release an updated version.

You mean Adobe, right? Macomedia technically no longer exists.

Also, under ColdFusion MX 7.0.1
http://www.macromedia.com/software/coldfusion/productinfo/systemreqs/ for
Windows, it specifies 32-bit x86 processors (Intel Pentium II or AMD Athlon
class performance or better), which says to me that a 64 bit hardware
architecture is not supported. But hey, you can go ahead and post your rant on
every site and blog that you want. You are the one that didn't read the
requirements before attempting to use the product.

I suggest you go back and read the requirements again. It says:-
ColdFusion Product Editions Enterprise, Standard, Developer
Processor 32-bit x86 processors (Intel Pentium II or AMD Athlon class
peformance or better)

Read the last bit!!
Also, if you had bothered to read on I say that the problem also occurrs on
the 32Bit Windows on a 'D' series intel processor.
For your information, the hardware is backwards compatible with 32bit.
Also I installed Macromedia, and if it supposed to be Adobe, well then do not
let users download a Macromedia product name. Adobe markets Macromedia don't
they?
Also for your information, Windows 64 has WOW and a seperate path for 64bit.
Maybe you should take a Windows course.
Why don't you just answer the query???
The program works just fine---- except for the SequeLink.
If you have a solution, i would welcome it, otherwise just shut up your stupid
uninformed and unqualified (assumption) opinion.

Read what "last bit"? I actually read the requirements and they say 32-bit X86
processors, but nowhere do they say 64-bit. In fact, if you really insist on
believing that it will run an a 64-bit machine, then you might want to review
the tech note at http://www.macromedia.com/go/baec9c0c which states, in part:

After installation, Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7 fails to start on an operating
system running on a 64-bit processor machine.

The exact error message generated will vary depending on the OS being used....

ColdFusion MX 7 is not supported on and will not work on 64-bit processor
machines. Enhancement request 59638 has been opened to add 64-bit support in a
future release of ColdFusion MX.

Is there any part of this tech note that you don't understand? Seems pretty
clear to me. (Some people have a hard time taking no for an answer, I guess.)

I have read that. You seem to have a problem. Which part of the English
language can you not understand.
I told you that I have got it working- all of it, with a minor problem with
the data linking.
This includes the JRun4, and the Sun al on On a AMD 64, Abit sli board, RAID
5 using WD 740 GD HDD. on a WinXP 64.
I asked a simple question regarding Macromedia (Adobe) ColdfusionMX7
ColdFusion MX ODBC Agent/Server.
Have you ever considered that their are i'some people' who may know a thing or
two.
I have also managed to get the ODBC to work also. Thanks for your input.
I have now after testing installed it on Windows 2003 Server (64bit) and is
working.
I strongly suggest that you have a change in attitude, do some learning and
realize that the 'impossible' is achievable with
the correct frame of mind.
I have been working on this for 3 days solid.
You also forget to mention in your sarcasm the Intel 'D' series processor on a
Windows XP 32 bit- not 64 bit OS, that was experiencing the same symptoms.
Where in the knowledge base do you find that.
