DB Locking on CDATA in MX7 - Coldfusion Server Administration

We're running MX7 on JRUN4, 2003 Server, and Sybase for the DB. We have the DS's set up in JRUN (jconn2 drivers) and have them configured in MX7 through JNDI. Two MX7 servers are load balanced through a CSS. Client variables are set up through the DB (as was so with the production CF5 servers) We constantly get locking on CDATA from MX on the following statement: select cfid, app, data from CDATA where cfid = p0 and app = p1M-l The DBA's tell me that there's a begin transaction, but it's never closed, and then there's a lock that doesn't go ...

Default DB Locking on CDATA in MX7

We're running MX7 on JRUN4, 2003 Server, and Sybase for the DB. We have the
DS's set up in JRUN (jconn2 drivers) and have them configured in MX7 through
JNDI. Two MX7 servers are load balanced through a CSS. Client variables are
set up through the DB (as was so with the production CF5 servers) We constantly
get locking on CDATA from MX on the following statement:

    select cfid,app,data from CDATA where cfid = p0 and app = p1M-l

The DBA's tell me that there's a begin transaction, but it's never closed, and
then there's a lock that doesn't go away, and CF hangs for that user (it's row
level locking, so it's not affecting other CFID's)

Additionally, the following is being logged in cfusion-out.log. Can anyone
    provide assistance?

So, I upgraded to 7,0,1,116466 and now I get this error message:

10/24 11:15:15 Information [jrpp-0] - FOR UPDATE can not be used in a SELECT
which is not part of the declaration of a cursor or which is not inside a
    stored procedure.

    Moving backwards here!

    This is bug 61374.

We added SELECT..."For update" to the CDATA select in 7.0.1 based on whether
the driver tells us it supports this feature.

Turns out Jconnect (and Inet Software) lie. (DataDirect works OK).

Inet is fixing their driver. We debated created a hotfix for this and might
if there are enough JConnect users that hit this before Sybase fixes it.
(basically to remove the " for update")
