DB2 Instance Crashed while Creating Server - To federate informix DB - IBM DB2

Hi Everyone.. Our Test Environment is running on DB2UDB7.2 FixPack 8 - UNIX/SOLARIS 8.0. Since we need to run some queries against Informix DB, installed Relational Connect & INFORMIX Client SDK 2.81 on our server. Since we didn't have Solaris CC Compiler to build wrapper library (Job - djxlinkInformix),IBM asked us to use (/usr/ccs/bin/ld) as a workaround in the script. With this the wrapper library built successfully. Also updated following files - db2dj.ini,sqlhosts to create Federated DB. The Federated option on DBM Configuration is set to YES. After connecting to the database we are able to create informix wrapper successfully. ...

Default DB2 Instance Crashed while Creating Server - To federate informix DB

    Hi Everyone..
Our Test Environment is running on DB2UDB7.2 FixPack 8 -
UNIX/SOLARIS 8.0. Since we need to run some queries against Informix
DB, installed Relational Connect & INFORMIX Client SDK 2.81 on our
    server.
Since we didn't have Solaris CC Compiler to build wrapper library
(Job - djxlinkInformix),IBM asked us to use (/usr/ccs/bin/ld) as a
workaround in the script. With this the wrapper library built
successfully. Also updated following files - db2dj.ini,sqlhosts to
create Federated DB. The Federated option on DBM Configuration is set
    to YES.
After connecting to the database we are able to create informix
wrapper successfully. Then we issued following command to create
    informix server ...
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
create server X type informix version 7.31 wrapper informix
    options (node 'X',dbname 'YYYYY' )
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon the command is issued, the instance crashed and DB2 went
down. Lot of messages logged on diag.log and captured few dumps and
    trap files.
They're after every time we issue this command DB2 Crashes.
Did any one come across this kind of problem? We already have an
open PMR With IBM and waiting for their feedback.

    Siva:

We encountered a similiar problem going against Sybase 11.5 on a
Solaris 2.8 server. IBM developed a patch for us and solve the
problem. However, you may want to prepare to upgrade to fp9 or the
above, since the fixpack most likely will require the latest fixpack.

Hi Eric...Thanks.. Well after applying fixpack 9 we don't see db2
crash at all. However after applying fix pack 10a and reinstall
relational connect and informix sdk, our db crashed while connecting
to federated db.The problem was with djxlinkinformix script. Initially
we used Sun solaris compiler and that's when DB crashed..After using
(usr/ccs/bin/ld) in djxlinkinformix script we don't see the crash at
all. Interestingly until fixpack 8 this script was using solaris
compiler and then after they are using /usr/ccs/bin/ld .
