DB2v8.1 and DB2v7.1FP9 - coexist on a machine - IBM DB2

Hi All, Does someone know if it is possible to configure to run two versions of DB2 on the same machine. I would like to be able to run DB2v8.1 and DB2v7.1FP9 parallely on the same machine. Wondering if I should even think about something like that or not. Any input is appreciated. Thanks, Sailaja...

    Hi All,

Does someone know if it is possible to configure to run two versions

    Linux/UNIX: yes
    Windows: only in dual-boot mode.

The only "headache" I know of is that many people create the links in
/usr/lib without understanding what they're doing, causing some
headaches there (which is why the option to do that during install has
been removed). Are there any others that you may be referring to?

I don't recall all the problems that people have reported, but for many it
doesn't go smoothly. One reason may be that many DBA's are not UNIX/Linux
    system administrators.

BTW, with v8, we also support DB2 on Linux and UNIX at different fixpak
    levels through "alternate fixpaks".
