Deathly slow when editing in contribute

I have used contribute for years and now that I updated the program it takes
forever to respond after I hit the edit button. The program comunicates quickly
with the server, downloads the files and then appears to freeze. I have to wait
over a minute before my cursor appears and I can edit a page. After I am done,
and publish, the congratulations appears quickly . When I am editing, I have
turned off all firewalls, antivirus, spam and protection programs. Nothing
helps. Does anyone have a suggestion?If I can not resolve this I will have to
look at another product for our group.
P.S. This issue is not related to one particular computer, It happens on both
my laptop and my home computer. It is also a problem for another group member
that I work with.

I have also slowed down my hardward accelleration. No change. I emptied my
explorer favorites...no change. I am becoming desperate. Please someone out
there must have an answer. If this is what contribute has become. This product
has to go......

See if you work behind a proxy? If yes then you need to configure Internet
exlorer with required settings .
