debugging store procedure in C# application - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Hi, I have been trying to debug store procedures in my C# applications. I have found some vb examples on the internet and followed it. So far it doesn't work. Is it possible to do this in C#? or is this something that I can only do in VB. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Here is some information on my environment: * Console application * local MSDE 2000 * Visual Studio .Net 2002 * sql debugging set to true * break points on ExecuteReader(), while(reader.Read()), store procedure and F11 to step into * Security: Windows Integration * MSSDI98.dll copied to ...

    Default debugging store procedure in C# application

    Hi,

    I have been trying to debug store procedures in my C# applications. I
    have found some vb examples on the internet and followed it. So far it
    doesn't work. Is it possible to do this in C#? or is this something
    that I can only do in VB. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

    Here is some information on my environment:

    * Console application
    * local MSDE 2000
    * Visual Studio .Net 2002
    * sql debugging set to true
    * break points on ExecuteReader(), while(reader.Read()), store
    procedure and F11 to step into
    * Security: Windows Integration
    * MSSDI98.dll copied to Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Binn
    * All dlls are registerred although one of them does not have an entry
    point. (SQLLE.dll, MSSDI98.dll, SQLDBG.dll)
    * Windows XP Pro

    The message that I got is

    'the program 'SQL debugger: T-SQL has existed with cide 0 (0x0)'

    Did anyone get this to work?

    Thanks
    Chad

    if u already create sp in db. u can debug the sproc by clicking sp on
    "Server Exploere" tab.
    1. Click and open sproc using VS.NET IDE
    2. right click on it and select step into sproc.
    3. It'll ask all the params and u can debug it !
    Regards
    D.

    Sorry for butting in but I was wondering if it is possible to just step into
    SPs while stepping through my VB.net program? That way I would not have to
    reenter all of the arguments.
    Thanks,
    Dean
