decreasing file size.
I've found that if I am about to print a Pdf using the AdobePDF print driver (Acrobat 6.0.2) in OSX if I happen to remember to go to an item called Printer features and change the setting from 1200dpi to 72dpi (all of my PDF's are used on the web); I get Pdf's as low as 30K kb to 90kb depending upon content (and looks just as good on screen). On the other hand. If I forget to set this. The size might become 650kb-1mb in size.
Is there some esoteric setting either in Acrobat or Distiller or even within the driver I can set so that it permanently stays as 72dpi. If I have to touch up an item and even run it through the reduce size command it may balloons to 10 times the size it was. unless I create a pdf form a Pdf and set the printer back to 72dpi. for what I do even 300dpi would be more than adequate for my needs and 72dpi would be the ideal.
Suggestions?

Re: decreasing file size.
Have you made your changes to 72dpi and then above in the PRESETS select
SAVE-AS and then named it (for instance) '72dpi'?
Now each time you just select the '72dpi' preset ..

Re: decreasing file size.
I hadn't thought about doing that. That is a decent work around. Though a setting for this should be somewhere within Acrobat or distiller.
Would this work in the case of touching up a pdf document within Acrobat and resaving the file using the save as command. I've founding doing this, in this case the file size to jump ten times its previous size.
Also would this work when simply using OSX create PDF with the print command?
