    Default decreasing query times

Hey Gang, I have a table with about 16,000 records and my query is set up to
retrieve all records marked as 'PENDING.' The number of records marked in
this way is maybe about 20, but the time it takes CF to go through all records
and find the pending ones is getting a little too long. Does anyone have any
ideas on what I can do to decrease the time it takes to query for PENDING
    records? TIA

Have you tried creating an index on the PENDING column?

I'll just assume you are using a where clause. Is the pending field a text field or varchar, varchar is much faster at indexing and searching.

    Hi

what type of database your are using.

writing the best query is one option. and even if you use the procedure for
this that will works more faster than executing the query each time..(if the u
    r db provide this feature).

and when you are accessing the page for the first it will take much time ..but
if you access the same page then it will executes much faster than teh first
    time..

if possible try to post your query if possible some one may change it to
    execute better faster
