Default scatter and pattern brushes
I seem to have lost the default scatter and pattern brushes. I reinstalled AI CS and the default Brushes palette displays only Calligraphic and Art brushes. Trashing the preferences doesn't restore them either.

Re: Default scatter and pattern brushes
When you reinstalled, did you remove the old version first? If not, some modified files may not have been overwritten (just a guess).

Re: Default scatter and pattern brushes
Yes, I deleted the old CS version first as well as the Preferences folder for that version. I may have defective default CMYK and RGB Brushes libraries on the install disk. I'll try installing from another disk.

Re: Default scatter and pattern brushes
Actually Suzanne, there aren't any default scatter or pattern brushes in the AICS startup file. They were removed to help speed up the performance of opening new documents.

Re: Default scatter and pattern brushes
Lita you can create the marble look then drag it to the swatch palette or make a graphic style of it or use Vector Studio a plug in which even has a marble texture style as a default.
I just got it and you can control the nature of the marble texture and pattern and choose the resolution of the object.

Re: Default scatter and pattern brushes
If you want, I created a couple of marble backgrounds for an experiment about a year ago, could e-mail them to you, if you need it. Let me know.
Still not sure if this is what you are asking for. Or if you want your own in a swatch.
