Default Deleting an EPS from InDesign Crashes the Program

I am doing a 16p catalog in InDesignCS on WinXPPro. Its mostly done but I have decided to change the logo on the cover. Now every time I try to delete, re link, update or do anything with that logo, InDesign Crashes to Desktop. I even tried deleting the whole page.

I think the problem relates to my having deleted some spot colours the EPS introduced but when I put the colours back I still have the same problem.

So what are my options? Anyone else experienced this?

Move it off to one side and forget it? Worries me at print stage.

The only option I currently can think of is to copy the whole catalogue to a new document bit by bit. Major pain.

Default Re: Deleting an EPS from InDesign Crashes the Program

I do not remember that I can delete from InDesign any used spot colors that came with an .eps file so I do not think that this is the case.

    What I'd try to do:
    1. Closing InDy file. Rename .eps. Reopen InDy - Complains about missing link. Link to new .eps.
    2. Making a package, removing from the links the .eps file, renaming the old folder where the .eps was and opening the InDy file from the package. When it will make noise about missing links, pointing to the new logo.
    3. Opening the file to another PC (or even Mac).
    4. Exporting the InDy file to Interchange format and reopening the new one.
